ROBERT D. SHRADER
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Robert D. "Bob" Shrader, 68, of Petersburg, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born April 10, 1930, in Franklin, he was the son of the late Kenny and Nannie (Dice) Shrader.
Bob was a graduate of Franklin High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Cline's Furniture in Franklin and Petersburg for 45 years. He attended Grove Street United Methodist Church and was umpire for the Grant County Little League and member of the Valley View Golf Association. He was a member of Petersburg Lodge IOOF 408.
Surviving are his wife, Bernice (Sites) Shrader, whom he married
on July 11, 1953; one daughter, Debra Mitchell and husband Jeff, Petersburg; one granddaughter, Samantha Mitchell; and a sister, Georgia K. Hobbs, Frederick, Md.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Grove Street Untied Methodist Church Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Longbon officiating.
Memorials may be made to Grant Memorial Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
Petersburg Lodge IOOF 408 will conduct services Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
THOMAS D. SHUMAKER
BURLINGTON, W.Va. - Thomas D. Shumaker, 80, of Route 1, Burlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born on April 28, 1918, at Russelldale, he was a son of the late Edward Obed and Mamie M. (High) Shumaker. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Wayne Shumaker, James G. Shumaker and Clarence Victor Shumaker.
Mr. Shumaker was formerly employed as a mechanic with the West Virginia Department of Highways. Upon his retirement he was serving in the capacity of shop foreman in District Five. For several years he taught auto mechanics to adult night classes at the Mineral County Vocational Technical Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in England and was a member of the Boyce-Houser Post #41, American Legion, Keyser.
Mr. Shumaker was a member of the Keyser Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Alah Mae (Hartman) Shumaker; one daughter, Helen Marie Wilburn and her husband, Robert W. "Jake" Wilburn, of Morgantown; one brother, John C. "Doc" Shumaker and his wife, Ruth Jane, Burlington; one sister-in-law, Phoebe E. Shumaker, Marlinton; two nieces, Debbie Nicol and husband, Mark, Scherr, and Ann Groves and husband, Elwood, Marlinton; one nephew, Edward Wayne Shumaker and wife, Brenda, Purgitsville; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be no visitation on Saturday evening.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Keyser Church of the Brethren on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joyce Petry officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
MILTON EDWARD "MICKEY" SIMMONS
ROMNEY, W.Va. - Milton E. "Mickey" Simmons, 92, of Romney, formerly of Annapolis, Md., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at his residence.
Born March 16, 1906, in Annapolis, he was the son of the late Robert Estep and Mary Jane Lee Simmons. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Lee Topping Simmons; four brothers; and one sister.
Mr. Simmons was a member of the Van Buren Street Baptist Church, Annapolis. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union #1 of Maryland.
Surviving are two sons, Milton W. "Scott" Simmons and wife, Jane, Romney, and Vernon Lee Simmons and wife, Mary, Demott, Ind.; one brother, Waynard Simmons, Grantsville, Md.; three grandchildren, Luke Simmons, Benjamin Simmons, Laura Simmons, Demott; three step-grandchildren, Debra Childress, Baltimore, Md., Sandra Grabowski, Elkridge, Md., and Mike Conyers, Elizabethtown, N.C.; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Baldwin Funeral Home, Romney, on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., where they will have a Eulogy Service at 6 p.m., followed by visitation.
Friends will be received at the Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Glouchester St., Annapolis, on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., and services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Hillcrest cemetery, Annapolis.
MILDRED V. SIMPSON
ELKINS, W.Va. - Mildred V. Brooke Simpson, age 74 years, a resident of 106 Ellis Ave., Elkins, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past two months, and her death was attributed to cancer.
She was born on April 18, 1924, at Green Spring, a daughter of the late Thomas William and Ruth G. Crities Shanholtz.
She was twice married
. On March 13, 1943, she was married
to William R. Brooke, who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1970. On Sept. 14, 1977, she was married
to Lloyd H. Simpson, who survives and is a patient at Home Comfort Care at Coalton. Also surviving are one son, Robert R. Brooke, El Paso, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Linda K.) Moore, Hummelstown, Pa.; one brother, William E. Shanholtz, Tyler, Texas; one sister, Alice S. Bolyard, Wiley Ford; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mildred graduated with the class of 1943 from Fort Hill High School at Cumberland, Md., and she had been very active in '43 Club. She was a member of the Johnstown, Pa., Order of the Eastern Star, the Delphia Rebekah Lodge #62, and was very active in the Randolph County Senior Center. She was a member of the Elkins Church of the Brethren.
Friends were received at the Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home, Elkins, on Friday.
Final rites were conducted from the funeral chapel on Saturday with the Rev. Stephen Abe and the Rev. Terry Cannon officiating.
MARIE E. SINGHASS
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Marie Elizabeth Singhass, 60, of Fort Ashby, died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.
Born Sept. 19, 1937, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Helen Frances (Mundy) Divelbliss. She was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Divelbliss.
Mrs. Singhass was a homemaker. She attended the Berean Independent Baptist Church, Fort Ashby.
Surviving are her husband, Allen R. Singhass Sr.; two sons, Allen R. Singhass Jr., Fort Ashby, Dale Singhass Sr. and wife, Jeanne, Short Gap; one daughter, Tammy Sue Wszeborowski and husband, Frank, Frederick, Md.; two brothers, Donald Divelbliss, Gary Divelbliss, Bowling Green, both of Cumberland; three sisters, Patsy Allen, Cumberland, Jackie Moses, Sharpsburg, Md., Debbie Stallings, Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Dale Singhass Jr., and Allie Renee Singhass.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dana Umbel officiating.
JESSE A. SITES
DORCAS, W.Va. - Jesse A. Sites, age 67, of Dorcas, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Jan. 17, 1931, at Dorcas, he was the son of the late Marvin E. and Elsie V. (Vance) Sites. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Dakota Wayne Rohrbaugh; one brother, Leearl Sites.
Jesse was a charter member of Dorcas Ruritan Club and a member of the Potomac Highlands C.B. Club. He was a member of North Mill Creek Baptist Church at Dorcas.
On Sept. 17, 1952, he married
the former Annetta Horton, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Marvin "Bud" Sites, Moorefield, Johnnie A. Sites, Maysville, Stephen J. Sites, Oakwood, Va., Rex A. Sites, Upper Tract; two daughters, Jessie Ann Kimble and Christina Ketterman, both of Dorcas; four sisters, Rosetta Smith, Helen Smith and Carol Skiles, all of Dorcas, and Joyce Ketterman, Warren, Ohio; four brothers, Chester Sites and Johnny Sites, both of Dorcas, Norman Sites, Winchester, Va., and Lysle Sites, Dorcas; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Donaldson and the Rev. Paul Dye officiating. Burial will be in the United Sites cemetery at Dorcas.

RAMONA L. SKINNER
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Ramona L. "Monie" Skinner, 69, of Catawba, S.C., formerly of Ridgeley, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at her home.
Mrs. Skinner was the daughter of the late Nellie B. and Gerald Spangler. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Skinner; two sons, Dick Weaver, Leslie, S.C.; Ernest Weaver, Buckhannon, W.Va.; one stepson, Jackie Skinner, Altoona, Pa.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Spangler and Jack Spangler, both of Cumberland, and one sister, Lois Brown, Rock Hill, S.C.
Upon Mrs. Skinner's request, the body was cremated.
Memorial services were held Saturday in the First Church of the Nazarene, North Joan Street, Rock Hill, with the Rev. Marion Pressley officiating. Interment will be at Eckhart cemetery.
