HARLEY R. MYERS
AUGUSTA, W.Va. - Harley R. Myers, 84, of R.R. 1, Box 4, Augusta, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, at Hampshire Health Care Center, Romney, W.Va.
He was born June 30, 1913, in Simpson, W.Va., the son of the late Mahlon Robert Myers and Flora Christina (Limer) Myers. Gae Huffman, his wife of 53 years, preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1991. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Myers was a school teacher and principal for 30 years in Hampshire County schools. He also was principal at the Augusta Elementary School.

From 1946 to 1951 he owned a store and served as postmaster at Three Churches, W.Va.

Mr. Myers was a charter member of the Augusta Volunteer Fire Company and also was its first president. He was a long-time member of the Augusta Ruritan Club where he served as president, treasurer, and zone governor. He was a member of WVRTA; the Pioneer Teachers; and former president, treasurer and director of Central Hampshire Public Service District, Romney. He was director for the Committee on Aging and the secretary of the former Augusta Telephone Company. Mr. Myers served as pastor for White Pine, Oak Grove and Tearcoat Churches of the Brethren. He also was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher.

He is survived by two daughters, Flora Sirbaugh, Front Royal, Va., and Connie Edwards, Augusta; one son, John R. Myers, Winchester, Va.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Gary Edwards officiating.

Interment will be in Tearcoat cemetery, Augusta.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Sirbaugh, George Hott, Denzil Davis, James Bryan Edwards, John Mcginley, and Gary Bowman.

Memorials may be made to Hampshire County Gideons, P.O. Box 240, Romney, WV 26757; to Hampshire County Library, Romney, WV; or to Salem United Methodist Church, c/o Edna Haines, HC-60, Box 120, Points, WV 25437.

BEATRICE L. PEER
WILEY FORD, W.Va. - Beatrice L. Peer, 70, of Wiley Ford, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at Memorial Hospital Hospice, Cumberland, Md.
Born April 11, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late Lewis A. and Rosa D. (Bradford) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Peer, on Nov. 19, 1967; five sisters, Peggy Corbin, Leona Sherman, Marie Haines, Betty Watson, and Hazel Mathew; a brother, Junior Smith, and three brothers at birth. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Peer was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, Wiley Ford, the Women's Ministeries of the Church, and the Bible Class.

Surviving are one daughter, Joyce E. Smith and husband Donnie, Hedgesville; one son, Richard Peer and wife Debbie, Bunker Hill; six grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, and David Smith, all of Hedgesville, Steve and Mike Peer, and Michelle Schroyer, all of Bunker Hill; and one great-grandson, Ryan Peer.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Florice A. Fansler officiating.

Interment will be in Three Churches cemetery, Three Churches, W.Va.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason, Jeremy and David Smith, Steve and Mike Peer, and nephew, Doug Shambaugh.

B. WAYNE MYERS
FROSTBURG - B. Wayne "Dink" Myers, 71, of 29 South Water St., Frostburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Eckhart, he was the son of the late William Edward and Ora (Seifarth) Myers.

Mr. Myers retired from the Potomac Edison Company as an operating foreman with over 40 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, charter member of the Maplehurst Country Club, past exalted ruler of BPOE No. 470, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 348, and Farrady Post No. 24 American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Sanged) Myers; two daughters, Lisa Feingersh and husband Jon, Silver Spring, and Paula Myers, Columbia; two grandsons, Ben and Jake Feingersh; two brothers, Paul E. Myers and wife Doris, Frostburg, and Larry Myers and wife Judy, Eckhart; and one brother-in-law William H. Sanged.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.

Interment will be in Eckhart cemetery.

The family requests memorials be directed to the donor's favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Thomas, Charles Pinto, Jon Feingersh, Tim Connor, J. Glenn Beall Jr., and William Prichard.

REV. CLAUDE R. MACDONALD
WILLIAMSTON, N.C. - The Reverend Claude Russell MacDonald, 84, of 309 East Franklin St., Williamston, N.C., formerly of Paw Paw, W.Va., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997, at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
He was born May 31, 1914, at Paw Paw, the son of the late George C. and Pearl (Alderston) MacDonald.

He was a retired pastor of First Christian Church, Cumberland. He also was a graduate of Catherman's Business School, and had worked 10 years for the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company as a tax accountant. He graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary, Lexington, Ky.; entered the Ministry in 1945; and retired in 1979. He also had served as interim pastor in several churches in Virginia and North Carolina.

In 1942 he married the former Thelma Reckley, of Cumberland, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Nancy M. Long, High Point, N.C.; and a son, John R. MacDonald; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, all of Williamston.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997, at the First Christian Church in Williamston, with the Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating.

Interment was in the Woodlawn cemetery, Williamston.

Arrangements were handled by the Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston.

ELLEN J. MACFARLANE
MANCHESTER, Vt. - Ellen Jefferys Macfarlane, 77, a resident of Manchester, Vt., formerly of Parkersburg, W.Va., died Sunday evening, Aug. 17, 1997, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends.

Mrs. Macfarlane was born May 10, 1920, in Parkersburg. She was the daughter of Dorsey E. and Catherine (Smith) Jefferys. She married John Banks Macfarlane III in 1940. He passed away in 1986.

She moved here from Garden City, Long Island, N.Y., about three years ago. Ellen was a member of the Equinox Health Spa, enjoyed bowling and golfing, and had a real zest for life. She was a gifted dancer, and was able to play many of her favorites on the piano. Mrs. Macfarlane kept family and friends close, and liked spending time with them, was known as the quintessential "mom" by her family, and felt that moving to Manchester was like coming home again.

Mrs. Macfarlane is survived by a son, John Banks Macfarlane IV and his wife, Deborah, Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Ellen J. Macfarlane, Manchester; a close relative whom she loved like a sister, Nadine Hardesty Fitzwater, Cumberland and one grandson, John B. Macfarlane. She was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Lou Jefferys.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Manchester. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial cemetery in Cumberland on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. There are to be no calling hours.

For those who wish, memorial gifts in Mrs. Macfarlane's memory may be made to the Norris Cotton Medical Center (Cervical Cancer Research Department) c/o Brewster Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester, CTR VT 05255.

ILA B. MACHAMER
KEYSER, W.Va. - Ila B. Machamer, 99, of 12 North Main St., Keyser, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 1997, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, Md.
Born Oct. 30, 1897, in Kantner, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Mahlon and Mary J. (Koontz) Berkebile. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Machamer.

Mrs. Machamer was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Keyser, and a long time member of the Democratic Party.

Surviving are four sons, Claude A. Machamer, Keyser, Mahlon Machamer, Westport, Mass., Donald Machamer, Paw Paw, W.Va., and Clark Machamer, Tehachapi, Calif.; one daughter, Ila Mae Zacharias, Littleton, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Matthew L. Riegel officiating.

Interment will be in the Grafton National cemetery, Grafton, W.Va.
