WILLIAM F. STICKLEY
KEYSER, W.Va. - William F. "Bud" Stickley Jr., 77, of Route 1, Keyser, died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born May 26, 1919, in Keyser, he was the son of the late William F. Stickley Sr. and Blanche E. (Saville) Stickley.

Mr. Stickley was a retired custodian from the Mineral County Board of Education, and was a former employee of Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Reeses Mill, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Betty R. (Trenton) Stickley; three sons, Gary Lee Stickley, David W. Stickley and wife Tammy, and Michael W. Stickley and wife Penny, all of Keyser; two grandchildren, Travis and Christine Stickley; and two sisters, Dorothy Welshonce, Keyser, and Ila Slonaker and husband William, Capon Bridge.

Friends will be received at the Markwood-McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren and the Rev. Alvin Guyon officiating.

Interment will be in the Malick cemetery, Augusta.

SUSAN HESSE STONESTREET
MAYSVILLE, W.Va. - Susan Stonestreet, 86, of Maysville, died Friday, May 23, 1997, at Grant Memorial Hospital.
Born March 6, 1911, at Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Angie (Smith) Hesse. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil F. Stonestreet, on Dec. 2, 1959; one son, Harold F. Stonestreet, Nov. 10, 1937; two brothers, John C. Hesse and Samson S. Hesse; and one sister, Tillie Mae Judy.

Mrs. Stonestreet was a graduate of the St. John Academy, she attended Shepherd College, and taught school in Grant County. She and her late husband owned and operated their family farm during their lifetime.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Ann Schmidlen and husband Walter "Laddie", Elkins, and Patricia H. Kitzmiller and husband Randy, Maysville; one twin sister, Catherine Hanlin, Scherr; one brother, Donnie Hesse, Maysville; four grandchildren, Gregory R. Strickler, Walter L. Schmidlen III, Joseph V. Schmidlen and Kevin L. Strickler; three great-grandchildren, Walter L. Schmidlen IV, Chelsea N. Strickler and Brittany D. Schmidlen.

Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 North Main St., Petersburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Davis Baptist Church, Maysville, on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Donaldson and the Rev. Paul Dye officiating.

Interment will be in Maysville cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Davis Baptist Church, Maysville.

JESSE JUNIOR STUMP
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - J. Junior "J.J." Stump, 79, of 71 Point Drive, Petersburg, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Grant Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1917, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Edward H. and Sadie (Yokum) Stump. He also was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Neva (Jenkins) McCoole; one step-grandson, Freddie Coffman; one brother, Ray Stump; and one sister, Eurania Riggleman.

Mr. Stump was a farmer and an auctioneer. He was a member of the Grove Street United Methodist Church and Landes Ruritan Club.

Surviving are his wife, Elsie M. (Sites) Stump, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1943; one stepson, Bobby J. Jenkins, Wardensville; one stepdaughter, Pauline Coffman, Wardensville; four sisters, Georgia Whetzel and Ruth Runion, both of Petersburg, Iona Rose, Morgantown, and Mary Lou Bonnette, Geneva, Ohio; one brother, Elwood Grant Stump, Glen Gardner, N.J.; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 North Main St., Petersburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard L. Longbon officiating.

Interment will be in South Branch Memorial Gardens, Petersburg.

The family requests memorials may be made to the Landes Ruritan Club or to the charity of one's choice.

ALLEN R. STREETT
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - Allen Ralph Streett, 57, of Fort Ashby, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 22, 1940, in Cumberland Valley, Bedford County, Pa., he was the son of the late DeWayne Wesley Streett and Margaret Annabell (Growden) Streett.

He also was preceded in death by his stepson, Joseph Todd Shriver; and his stepmother, Pearl Miller Streett.

Mr. Streett had served in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter by trade. Mr. Streett had 23 years of service with Carl Belt Inc., where he had been a supervisor.

Mr. Streett attended Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Fort Ashby VFW Post No. 6667, and the Carpenter's Union, Local No. 1024, Cumberland.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ruth (Deremer) Streett; one stepson, Mark C. Shriver, Fort Ashby; one sister, Nancy Grubbs, Everett, Pa.; one brother, Gary W. Streett, Bedford, Pa.; one half brother, Edward Myron Streett, Bedford Valley, Pa.; two stepbrothers, David Miller and Bernard Miller, both of Bedford Valley, Pa.; one aunt, Mary Growden Crawford, Bedford Valley, Pa.; one uncle, Walter C. Growden, Frostburg; and three step-grandchildren, Mark C. Shriver II, Samantha Shriver, and China Lin Shriver.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dallas Forren officiating.

Interment will be in Fort Ashby cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1110, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.

BERNARD E. STURM
ELKINS, W.Va. - Bernard Eugene "Jim" Sturm, 75, a former resident of 5 Randolph Ave., Elkins, and a former resident of Ridgeley, W.Va. died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 in Parkersburg, W.Va.
He was born October 29, 1921 at Mabie, W.Va. and was a son of the late Gordon and Nora (Elmore) Sturm.

On Dec. 20, 1952 he was married to the former Evelyn Vanmeter who survives in Parkersburg. Also surviving are four daughters, Debra Carpenter, Cumberland, Sheila Mason Allsworth and Sondra Oesterle both of Parkersburg, and Sharon Mauzey of Texas; one brother; four sisters; six grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Mr. Sturm was employed as a Trainman for the Western Maryland Railway for 32 years prior to his retirement.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Elkins with the Rev. Walter H. Blough officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside by members of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and V.F.W. Post 3647.

Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Parkersburg, 914 Market St., Parkersburg, W.Va. 26101 in memory of Mr. Sturm.

The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements.

R. GLADSTONE SNYDER
LAHMANSVILLE, W.Va. - Raymond Gladstone Snyder, 87, of Lahmansville, W.Va., died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where he had resided since Aug. 1, 1997.
Born Aug. 7, 1910, at Lahmansville, he was a son of the late Noah Webster and Maggie M. (Varner) Snyder. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert L. Snyder and Lloyd N. Snyder.

Mr. Snyder graduated from St. John's Academy, Shepherd College, and received his master's degree from West Virginia University. He was an elementary principal and a teacher in Grant County for 39« years. He retired in 1973. He was a member of West Virginia and Grant County Association of Retired School Employees. He was a 50-year member of Petersburg Lodge No. 145 AF & AM, and he also was a member of Petersburg Lodge I.O.O.F. 408. He was a member of the Petersburg Golden K Kiwanis Club and a member of the Lahmansville United Methodist Church. He was a farmer in Grant County.

On July 15, 1933, he married Wilda V. (Shobe) Snyder.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one brother, Robert M. Snyder and wife, Gail, Lahmansville; several nieces and nephews surviving including, JoAnn S. Harman and Carolyn S. Goldizen, both of Lahmansville, Becky S. Peters, Petersburg, Margaret S. Bensenhaver, Virginia Beach, Va., Shirley S. Williams, Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara Jean Snyder, Lahmansville; and nephew, Robert M. Snyder, Jr., Davis, W.Va.

Friends will be received at Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 North Main St., Petersburg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

I.O.O.F. 408 will conduct services at the funeral home on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. French Smith and the Rev. George Widmyer officiating.

Interment will be in Lahmansville cemetery. Petersburg Lodge No. 145 AF & AM will conduct graveside services.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Academy Scholarship fund or to Petersburg High School Scholarship Fund, or to the charity of choice.
