THURMAN G. HARTMAN
BURLINGTON, W.Va. - Thurman Gerald Hartman, 77, of Route 1, Box 163, Burlington, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born Dec. 1, 1919, at Purgittsville, he was a son of the late Osa and Lulu (Davy) Hartman. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Hartman.
Mr. Hartman retired in 1981 from the West Virginia Department of Highways, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the Markwood United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Hartman was awarded a bronze star for the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve (Roberts) Hartman; one son, Jason Hartman, Burlington; one daughter, Paula Knight and husband Bob, Keyser; one stepson, Delton Bobo, Keyser; three stepdaughters, Bonnie Haines and husband David, Juanita Cosner and husband Lyle, all of Keyser, and Kimberly Markworth and husband Jeff, Manti, Utah; four sisters, Sara Parker, Romney, Lessie McGee, Burlington, Bessie Ours, Winchester, Va., and Nina Sherman, Moorefield; six brothers, Ernest Hartman and Edward Hartman, both of Purgittsville, Floyd Hartman, Robert Hartman, and Richard Hartman, all of Moorefield, and Donald Hartman, Keyser; three grandchildren, Justin, Bradley, and Ashley Knight; nine stepgrandchildren, Sherry Pancake and husband Cody, III, Shawn and Seth Haines, Lyle and Misty Cosner, Alysa Bobo, and Jeffery, Stephanie, and Heather Markworth; and one stepgreat-grandson, Cody Pancake IV.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Anderson officiating.
ROBERT M. "Curley" HARVEY
BAYARD, W.Va. - Robert M. "Curley" Harvey, 85, of Bayard, died Sunday, June 1, 1997, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1912, in Shaw, he was the son of the late Lemuel C. and Susan R. (Paugh) Harvey. He also was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Harvey was a U.S. Army veteran serving with Battery D, Coast Artillery, Fort Amador, Canal Zone, Panama, from 1931 to 1934. He owned and operated the Tri-State Music Co. from 1953 until 1968. Next, he was employed by Commercial Hydraulics in Shinnston until his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of Thomas Fairfax Lodge AF & AM, Davis. He was a charter member of the Blackwater Civic Association, past president of the Bayard Lions Club, and past president of the Optimist Club, Oakland, Md.
He was a former member of the Bayard City Council. He was one of three persons responsible for bringing telephone service to Bayard in the 1950s.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Pauline (Guthrie) Harvey; two daughters, Connie Minnix and husband Dann, Shinnston, and Rita Durst and husband Steve, Bayard; five grandchildren, Daniel Minnix, Kimberly Kerns and Tracy Sabala, all of Shinnston, Cheryl Carey, Clarksburg, and Matthew Durst, Bayard; one foster granddaughter, Tracy Dunithan, Fairmont; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William McCallister officiating.
ANDREW HAUGHOM
KEYSER, W.Va. - Andrew Haughom, 78, of 295 Hilltop Ave., Keyser, died Monday, June 9, 1997, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.
Born March 10, 1919, at Flekkefjord, Norway, he was a son of the late Oscar and Martha (Bjorland) Haughom. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Odd Haughom.
Mr. Haughom was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Air Force, and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and the Air Force War College, class of 1959, Montgomery, Ala. He was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (Rowe) Haughom; three daughters, Martha Haughom, Vienna, Va., Nora K. Haughom, Annandale, Va., and Mary C. Haughom, Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Thomas A. Haughom, San Francisco, Calif.; one stepson, Stephen Broyhill, Bethesda, Md.; one stepdaughter, Pamela Pembroke, Ellicott City, Md.; two sisters, Signe Hills, Philadelphia, Pa., and Synnove Haughom, Rockport, Maine: seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Haughom requested that his body be cremated.
Liturgy of Christian Burial with Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Judson Pealer as celebrant.
The family requests that flowers be omitted, and expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, PO Box 297, Keyser, WV 26726, or the Keyser Library Building Fund, 105 N. Main St., Keyser, WV 26726.

ELSIE MARIE HAWK
ELK GARDEN, W.Va. - Elsie Marie "Huggie" Hawk, 74, of Elk Garden, entered eternal sleep Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pa.
Born Aug. 22, 1922, in Elk Garden, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Sarah Blanche (Hull) Oates. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur O. "Bud" Hawk, on Oct. 27, 1996.
Elsie was a Methodist by faith. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Storm VFW, and the Women of the Moose, Keyser.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Oates, Martinsburg; one son, Wayne Hawk and wife Betty, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; one brother Melvin Oates, Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Dorothy Timbrook, Wardensville; six grandchildren, Wendi Bobo Watson, Mark and Elaine Bobo, Lee and Tami Bobo, Coby Bobo, Kevin and Gretchen Hawk and Carrie Hawk; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Md., on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brenda Shreve and the Rev. Tom Brackett officiating.
GENEVIEVE W. HARMAN
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Genevieve Wilson Harman, 91, of 218 Winchester Ave., Moorefield, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at the City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born March 30, 1906, in Wardensville, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Katherine (Funkhouser) Wilson. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Justin Miley Harman, on Nov. 16, 1974; and her children, Mrs. Justine Perkins, William B. Harman, and Thomas Harman.
Mrs. Harman was a graduate of the first graduating class of Handley High School, Winchester, in 1924. She received a teacher's certificate from Shepherd Normal School in 1926, taught school in Wardensville, and was a worker for the American Red Cross during World War II and for many years thereafter. She taught piano and was a housewife. She was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of Mrs. Bean's Sunday school class at Duffey, and was organist for Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Betty H. Harman, Martinsburg; one son-in-law, Cecil "Perk" Perkins, Wheeling, formerly of Keyser; two granddaughters; four grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home, Moorefield, on Thursday after 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be at Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church Friday, April 18, 1997, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Osgood and the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating.

EULA OATES HAHN
HIGH VIEW, W.Va. - Eula Oates Hahn, 91, of Route 1, Box 515, High View, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at her residence.
Born on June 30, 1905, in Hampshire County, she was a daughter of the late Harrison W. and Rosa Swisher Oates. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard W. Hahn, who died on March 23, 1977.
Mrs. Hahn was a member of the Capon Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Granis Beery, High View, formerly of Cumberland; a son, Gary W. Hahn, High View; three grandchildren, Wallace J. and Wayne A. Beery, and Roger W. Hahn; and two great-grandchildren, Bryana and Allison Beery.
Friends will be received at the Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
