MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - G. Marie Sims, 75, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Shenandoah Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Charles Town, W.Va.
Born April 7, 1924, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Milton and Minnie Alice Dean Weatherholtz.
Her husband, Robert Nelson Sims, preceded her in death.
She retired from Fairchild Aircraft after 40 years.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Gladys Hobbs of Yardville Heights, N.J., and Freda Myers of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Paul B. Weatherholtz of Selingsgrove, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Brita E. Wanger
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Brita Elizabeth Wanger, 66, of Shepherdstown, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, in Greensboro, N.C.
Born May 10, 1933, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Halvard and Dr. Sarah McFetridge Wanger.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Martha Selove of Chantilly, Va.; and two brothers, Dr. William Wanger of Rumford, Maine, and Dr. H. Alexander Wanger of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Services will be held at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, Shepherdstown, at a time to be announced.

Bessie O. Hendricks
UVILLA, W.Va. - Bessie Osbourn Hendricks, 88, of Uvilla, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 8, 1911, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Melvin and Bessie Poston Osbourn.
Her husband, John William Hendricks Sr., died Jan. 14, 1972.
She was a 1930 graduate of Shepherdstown High School, and a 1932 graduate of Shepherd College.
She was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she taught school for a short time.
She was a member of Uvilla United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was a member of Molers Extention Homemakers Club; Shepherd College Emeritus Club; Pack Horse Ford Chapter; National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; Governor Norborne Berkeley Chapter American Colonists; Magna Carta Dames; Shepherdstown Women's Club; and Elk Branch Presbyterian Women.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie H. Denton of Brooms Island, Md., and Mary Catherine Handzo of Sewickley, Pa.; a son John W. Hendricks Jr. of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; a sister, Eleanor Lloyd of Martinsburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy O. Lemen, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Sandra Slazer will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Douglas W. Gregory
PIKESIDE, W.Va. - Douglas William "Bill" Gregory, 70, of Pikeside, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born April 28, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Virgie V. Gregory.
He was a 1948 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He was owner and operator of the former Candlelight Restaurant, was employed at DuPont and retired from the West Virginia Division of Highways..
He was a veteran, having served both with the 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army, and West Virginia Air National Guard 167th Airlift Wing.
He was a member of Equality Lodge 44; A.F&A.M.; a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason; Elks Lodge 778, having served as state president, D.D. G.E.R. He was a member of Berkeley Post 14, American Legion; Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW; and Martinsburg Lode 120, Loyal Order of Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Jerry D. O'Brien Gregory; two daughters, Karen Renee Queen of Charles Town, W.Va., and Kim Ellen Demory of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sons, Timothy Craig Gregory of Dallas, John Douglas Gregory of Martinsburg, and William Anthony Gregory of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Kathleen Watson of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helena Comer and Nellie Clemmons; and a brother, Harold F. Gregory.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. Jack T. Sutor Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Military Graveside services will be conducted by Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW and Berkeley Post 14, American Legion.

Clara L. Underwood
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -Clara Lena Underwood, 83, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born Aug. 24, 1916, in Summit Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Bulter Curry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Buck" Underwood.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Jamestown Prosperity Baptist Church.
She is survived by a foster daughter, Betty Jane Taylor of Charles Town; a foster son, Howard Eugene Curry of Winchester; a sister, Rosebud Ella Underwood of Charles Town; a brother, James Curry of Charles Town; six foster grandchildren; and eight foster great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Liza Curry, Gertrude Curry Underwood, and Imogene Curry; five brothers, Charles Alfred Curry, Albert Curry, Chaplain Johnson Curry, Ralph Wilbur Curry, and Harold Henderson Curry.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Jamestown Prosperity Baptist Church, Summit Point, W.Va. The Rev. John Green will officiate. Burial will be in Jamestown cemetery, Summit Point.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, W.Va.
Ernest L. Whitlock
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Ernest Lloyd Whitlock, 90, of Petersburg, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Heartland of Keyser in Keyser, W.Va.
Born Oct. 26, 1909, in Hampshire County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Hetzel and Emma Crites Whitlock.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth G. Wilson Whitlock, in 1987.
He retired in 1975 from Monarch Mills Grocery. He worked at Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown during World War II. He also worked at McEwen's Market in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Dorcas Ruritan Church in Capon Bridge, W.Va. He attended Petersburg Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Marilyn Sherman of Petersburg; a step-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; a niece; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Whitlock.
Services and visitation were held at Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. The Rev. Donald Scofield officiated. Burial was in Lahmansville cemetery in Lahmansville, W.Va.
