BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Sylvester S. Clark, 84, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.
Born June 3, 1915, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Earnest W. and Virgie Viola Michael Clark.
He worked for the former Victor Products, Gichners, and Commercial Sharing, all formerly of Berkeley Springs. He also had been an orchardist.
He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Marie Fearnow Clark; a sister, Iva A. Mason of Berkeley Springs; and three brothers, Calvern E. Clark, Ward L. Clark and Earnest W. Clark Jr., all of Berkeley Springs.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin L. Clark and Chester P. Clark.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., in Berkeley Springs. Pastor Brian Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia O. Foltz
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Virginia O. Foltz, 72, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1927, in Independence, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Laura C. Robbins Osborne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer P. Foltz, in 1972.
She retired from Berkeley County Committee on Aging.
She was a member of Little Falls Presbyterian Church in Falling Waters, W.Va.
She was a member of Chapter No. 738, Women of the Moose.
She is survived by four sisters, Nan Parrish of Fort Myers, Fla., Faye LaBeau of Winchester, Va., Wanda Townsend of Orlando, Fla. and Phyllis Wasson of Martinsburg.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The Rev. Andrew L. Snelson will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

William L. Richardson Sr.
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - William Lee Richardson Sr., 53, of Falling Waters, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 8, 1946, in Bethesda, Md., he was the son of Ruby Thompson Schroeder of Takoma Park, Md., and the late George Richardson.
He was a self-employed draftsman.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Roski Richardson of Frederick, Md.; a daughter, Faith N. Richardson of Frederick; two sons, William Lee Richardson Jr. of Falling Waters and Timothy Matthew Richardson of Frederick; a sister, Wendy Kells of Rohrersville, Md.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Arlington National cemetery at a later date.

Charles A. Curry
SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Charles Alfred Curry, 81, of Summit Point, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born April 29, 1918, in Summit Point, he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Rose Butler Curry.
He was a machine operator for Dixie Narco Corp.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth S. Curry of Charles Town, W.Va.; three daughters, Dorothy R. Cook and Ruby McIntosh, both of Winchester, Va., and Betty Jane Taylor of Charles Town; two sons, Charles A. Curry Jr. of Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. and Howard Pete Curry of Winchester; two sisters, Lena Underwood and Rosebud Underwood, both of Charles Town; a brother, James Curry of Charles Town; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wilbur Curry; three sisters, Liza Curry, Gertrude Curry Underwood and Imogene Curry; and five brothers, Albert Curry, Chaplain Johnson Curry, Ralph Wilbur Curry, Harold Henderson Curry and Donald Jackson.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson, W.Va. The Rev. Abner Carey will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

Henry D. Rice
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Henry David Rice, 84, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John W. and Myrtle Widmyer Rice.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen E. Young Rice.
He was a 1932 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He had owned and operated Rice Food Market on West John Street. He was a salesman for Lord Brothers.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Masons Equality Lodge No. 44 AF & AM; Scottish Rite; Shriners Club; past president of Martinsburg Lions Club; and past president of War Memorial Park Board.
He is survived by his close friend, Vallie Glover of Martinsburg; and a sister, Thelma Scarlett of Fayetteville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Downey and Ethel Broy; and two brothers, Wesley Rice and Herbert Rice.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. William E. Merki will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

Jean S. Schley
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jean Snyder Schley, 79, of Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Md.
Born Aug. 23, 1920, in Shepherdstown, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Martha White Snyder.
She graduated from Shepherdstown High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and Shepherd College. She was a member of Sigma, Sigma, Sigma Sorority.
She succeeded her parents as editor of the Shepherdstown Register.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
She volunteered with the Red Cross and at Trinity Thrift House; served with Meals on Wheels; was a member of Millbrook Board of Directors and Bud Van Meter Bridge Club.
She was named an Honorary Destroyer Lady in 1961 for her work with enlisted and officers wives.
She is survived by her husband, Captain John B. Schley, USN retired, whom she married
Aug. 20, 1941; a daughter, Elizabeth S. Slepetz of Manassas, Va.; a son, William B. Schley of Shepherdstown; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John B. Schley Jr.; a sister, Co Co Snyder Foster; a brother, William B. Snyder Jr.; and a grandson.
A memorial servics will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Shepherdstown. The Rev. G.T. Schramm will officiate. Private burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va.
