HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Donald Aldon Woods, 70, of Harpers Ferry and formerly of Brunswick, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at College View Center, Frederick, Md.
Born April 3, 1928 in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Helen U. Woods.
He was a graduate of Brunswick High School and Southeastern University, Washington, D.C.
He was an accountant, an owner-operator of three convenience stores, and a substitute teacher in Jefferson County, W.Va., retiring in 1995.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Gail Woods, at home; one step-daughter, Terry Propps Owens of Ashland, Va.; one step-son, Jeffrey L. Propps of Dillsburg, Pa.; two step-grandchildren; one aunt and a number of cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington Street, Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Douglas Fraim will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Michael S. Cyhanick
INWOOD, W.Va. - Michael S. Cyhanick, 37, of Inwood, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at his home.
He was a self-employed automobile mechanic.
He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Martinsburg High School, Martinsburg.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by a close friend, Elizabeth Blanco, and his family and second family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel R. Barb, in 1987.
He retired after many years of employment with Powhatan Brass and Iron Works in Ranson.
He was a Protestant.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
Ruth E. Gordon
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Ruth Evelyn Gordon, 82, of Route 11, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 29, 1916, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Earl T. and Edith E. Jones Leasure.
She was retired from Maryland Maid Kitchens.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Houpt of Boonsboro; one son, Monte Gordon of Falling Waters; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Belle A. Springer; and one brother, Allen L. Leasure.
Services will be Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mary E. Eaton
BAKERTON, W.Va. - Mary Elizabeth Eaton, 86, of Bakerton, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Shenandoah Health Village Center, Charles Town, W.Va.
Born April 19, 1912, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Neal and Virginia Swope Fraley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert I. Eaton Sr., in 1960.
She was a retired data processor with Montgomery County Public School System at Rockville, Md.
She was a member of Burnside First Church of God at Antietam, Md.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Eaton of Bakerton and Sandra Kay Hayslett of Olney, Md.; two sons, Charles F. Eaton of Rockville and Albert I. Eaton Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Iona Haines of Ranson, W.Va.; three brothers, Lester Fraley of Brunswick, Md., James Fraley of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Willis Fraley of Falling Waters, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Oden; and four brothers, Henry Fraley, Charles Fraley, Archie Fraley and Leroy Fraley.
Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Burnside First Church of God, Antietam. The Rev. Ernie Witmer and the Rev. Duane Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Charles E. Ware
MARTINSVILLE, Ind. - Charles Elwood Ware, 67, of Martinsville, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Morgan County Hospital, Martinsville.
Born May 21, 1931, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late John C. and Nora Muma Ware.
He was a graduate of West Virginia University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture.
He retired on Jan. 1, 1986, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service. Most recently, he was employed at Coldwell Banker Dunn Real Estate in Martinsville; and also was a consultant as a certified erosion and soil control specialist.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Martinsville; and United Methodist Church Mens Club.
He was a member of Early Edition Kiwanis Club; American Legion Post 230, Martinsville; president and founder of West Virginia Alumni Association Indiana Chapter; a member of Martinsville Planning Commission and Zoning Board; and the Democratic Precinct Committeemen.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian L. Watts Ware, whom he married
July 16, 1960; a daughter, Carole L. Ware of Bradenton, Fla.; and a son, Charles M. "Chuck" Ware of Manassas, Va.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Snyder and Mary Baker; and two brothers, Logan R. Ware and Howard C. Ware.
Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Don Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
