MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Donald W. Riggs, 90, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Sept. 23, 1908, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late George and Amanda Coffinbarger Riggs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hedges Riggs.
He farmed in the Back Creek Valley area.
He was a member of Tomahawk Christian Church, was a deacon and trustee.
He is survived by a daughter, Mona Jean DeHaven of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two sons, Donald Shirley Riggs of Martinsburg and Larry Dale Riggs of Hedgesville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Staci Lauren Riggs.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Jerry Holdman will officiate. Burial will be in Tomahawk cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Laura S. Hoffman
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Laura Sylvia Hoffman, 88, of 2 Columbia Ave. Extended, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at her home.
Born March 12, 1910, in Harpers Ferry, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Minnie Cook Kellison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Arnold D. Hoffman, in 1989.
She was a charter member of Gospel Chapel Assembly of God Church, Harpers Ferry.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Hoffman Kemp of Harpers Ferry; a son, Ronald K. Hoffman of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Deborah Palmer and Brian Hoffman, both of Harpers Ferry, Teresa Smith of Graham, N.C., Tammy Graybill of Brunswick, Md., Donna Myers of Linthicum Heights, Md., and Christine Gray of Bakerton, W.Va.; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Hoffman; and a niece.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gospel Chapel Assembly of God Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Richard Godfrey, the Rev. James Boyce and the Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St., Harpers Ferry.

Lois R. Burnett
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lois Rae Burnett, 58, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 20, 1940, in Plainfield, N.J., she was the daughter of John Burnett Sr. of Cave Creek, Ariz., and the late Florence Anderson Burnett.
She was a retired mental health supervisor.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her stepmother, Louise Burnett of Cave Creek; two sons, John C. Conklin of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Martin Burnett of Armonk, N.Y.; and one brother, John Burnett Jr. of Wauconda, Ill.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Stephanie Regina Brittingham, 26, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, in Hedgesville, of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Born Oct. 19, 1972, she was the daughter of Charles E. Brittingham and Gail Pastore Brittingham of Hedgesville.
She was a graduate of Northern Burlington High School in Burlington, N.J.
She was employed at Quad Graphics; and was a beautician.
She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Amanda Elizabeth Brittingham of Hedgesville; her grandparents, Charlotte Brittingham of Hedgesville, Earl and Louella Brittingham of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Peter Pastore of Martinsburg, W.Va.; aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and one nephew.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Michael Lowery will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - George Philip "Phil" Mueller, 58, of Shenandoah Junction, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 3, 1941, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Ernest Louis and Marie Josephine Ruhl Mueller.
He was a 1959 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He received a degree in electrical engineering in 1963 from Johns Hopkins University.
He was employed as an electrical engineer, working on defense contracts.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and sang in the choir.
He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity; and a life member of National Rifle Association of America.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Ann McCullough Mueller; two daughters, Anna Marie Binkley of Shenandoah Junction and Diane Lyn Benner of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Lois Annette Virciglio of Madeira Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ernest Louis Mueller of Baltimore; and six grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated today at 2 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown. The Rev. George Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends today at St. Agnes Catholic Church Parish Center following the service.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Zachariah Monnette "Jack" Myers, 83, of Molers Cross Roads, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at his home.
Born Feb. 23, 1915, in Brentwood, Md., he was the son of the late Charles and Edith Catterton Myers.
He retired as a warehouse supervisor for Condon Inc. in Falls Church, Va.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edythe B. Bagley Myers; three daughters, Mary A. Myers of Alexandria, Va., Dotty Quinn at home, and Delia Garza of Kearneysville, W.Va.; three sons, Charles Myers of Silver Spring, Md., Zachariah M. Myers Jr. of Shepherdstown and David Myers of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sisters; two brothers; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Shepherdstown. The Rev. John DiBacco will be celebrant.
A graveside service will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Lincoln cemetery, Brentwood.
