MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Sybil Amelia Barbour, 96, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998, at City Hospital.
Born March 6, 1902, in Toms Brook, Va., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Virginia Belle Funk Crabill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Nixon Barbour.
She was a caterer for a number of years.
She was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Pikeside Club and the Philathea Class.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Natalie Ashton and Nancy Albright, both of Martinsburg, Susan Portante of Long Beach, Calif., Jackie Ashby of New Harmony, Utah and Ted Russell of Twin Falls, Idaho; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Natalie Barbour Russell; a son, Douglas C. Barbour; five sisters, Margaret Cone, Evelyn Crabb, Regina Crabill, Josephine Grove and Lucy Crabill; and four brothers, George Crabill, Jacob Crabill, Creston Crabill and Samuel Crabill.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Dr. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen K. Hoffer
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Katherine Hoffer, 98, formerly of 101 Tennessee Ave., died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Homewood-Plum Creek, Hanover, Pa.
Born Feb. 25, 1900, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Ruth A. Grady Hoffer.
She graduated from Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.
She retired from Madeira School for Girls in Fairfax County, Va. as head nurse. She was previously employed with Garfield Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Rosemont Grace Brethren Church in Martinsburg.
She is survived by a sister, Enid Hoffer Leiter of Hanover; a niece and two nephews.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family at Fort Lincoln cemetery Mausoleum, Washington, D.C.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Hilda F. Everhart McKinney
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Hilda Frances Everhart McKinney, 81, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at City Hospital.
Born May 24, 1917, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Virgie Shepherd Everhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard McKinney.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Christ Church, Inwood, W.Va.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Wayne McKinney Sr. of Kearneysville, W.Va., four sisters, Marie S. Mason of Shepherdstown, W.Va., Alice Divine of Martinsburg, Geraldine Whittington of Stevenson, Va. and Gladys Cumberland of Baltimore; a brother, Douglas Everhart of California; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 12 sisters and brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Harry Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Wilson Pack
JAMES WILSON PACK, 69 of Hamlin, Lincoln County, WV died Tuesday May 5, 1970 at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday May 7 at 2 p.m. at Koontz Funeral Home in Hamlin by Rev. Homer Curry and Rev. J.W. Burch.
Burial in Harveys Creek Cemetary, Bowles, Rt. 34, Hamlin.
He was born January 15, 1901 in Lincoln Co., and was a son of the late James Albert and Martha Moore Pack.
He was a retired driller in the Natural Gas Field and retired inspector for the WV Dept. of Mines.
A member of Harvey's Creek Baptist Church, he is survived by the widow: Mrs. Alma Roberts Pack; five Sons, Arnold Pack of Salt Rock, Arthur Howard of Columbus,OH, Louie Pack of Hurricane, Edward Lee and Bennie Ray Pack of Hamlin. Four daughters: Mrs. Virginia (Jenny) Blankenship of West Hamlin, Mrs. Rita Forth of Hurricane, Mrs. Lois Hager of North Madison, Ohio, and Mrs. Connie Ward of Hamlin. Five brothers: Leslie, Walter, Howard and Hallie Pack all of Hamlin, and Basil Pack of Griffithsville, 29 grandchildren.
Graveside rites will be conducted by the Hamlin Masonic Lodge, Number 79 AF&AM; of which he was a member.
John R. Mast III
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - John Raymond "J.R." Mast III, 22, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, as the result of an automobile accident.
Born Nov. 27, 1975, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of John R. Mast II of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Judith Taylor McFadden of Hedgesville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jeannette Elizabeth Mast of Hedgesville; one half-brother, Shawn P. McFadden of Hedgesville; maternal grandparents, Franklyn D. Taylor of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Shirley E. Wheeler of Hedgesville; and paternal grandparents, John and Ida Mast of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Helen E. Miles
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Estelle Miles, 90, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born May 1, 1908, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Lula Weiskettle Miles.
She was formerly employed by F.S. Emmerts and Sons.
She was a member of Christ Reformed Church, United Church of Christ, for 75 years.
She is survived by one sister, Ruth C. Miles of Martinsburg; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Madeline Miles; and two brothers, Ralph A. Miles and Albert W. Miles.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Clara F. Stanley
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Clara Frances Stanley, 69, of Martinsburg, and was a guest at Heartland of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 8, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marion and Clara Virginia Heishman Faircloth.
She was formerly a licensed practical nurse at Jeffersonian Manor Nursing Home in Charles Town, W.Va.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Stanley and Phillip E. Stanley I, both of Martinsburg, and George Stanley II of Romney, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Lindensmith and Frances Snell; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Stanley and Larry Stanley; and three sisters, Shelvy Jean Myers, Grace Johnson and Dorothy Smith.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Green Hill cemetery, Martinsburg. Pastor Harold Hess will officiate.
